Introduction

As an IADCS student, I have to carry out assignments. In the first module, we have to implement Advance VB.net, Managing Business Project and Database Design and Development assignments. In the database design and development subject I have to carry out a assignment for implementing a database design system for a research department company which carry out many project including internal and external employee and funding agencies. All these assignments are not easy ones to carry out and they are quite a heavy load for me. Without the help of any of my surroundings, I will not reach far enough to complete all these assignments in the given time. But now I have enough confidence that I'm going to fulfill these assignments with the grace of the following people. I would like to give my sincere thanks to them.

First of all I would like to give my love and thanks to my parents who have supported me throughout my life to up till now. They are still aiding me in every aspect as in my education, luxury, health etc. Still giving me enough strength and motivate me as much as they could even though they are old enough to take sound rest. But instead, they are still assisting me in every way. I would to give my grace and my thanks to them.

Although my parents can help me in many ways, they cannot fulfill all my needs in my educational aspect. Teachers, lecturers and my friends are of great help to me in carrying out my assignments. I also like to pass my thanks to all the teachers from NCC department and other teachers and lecturers which I may have be passed out for explaining me everything I do not understand and encouraging me to get to a higher level to meet the foreign studies needs.

Finally, I also would like to thanks my friends who have been very supportive on me. They can clear my sadness, unhappiness, and disappointments to a certain amount. They have helped me a lot in my studies. And I also pass my thanks to those whom I have left to mention.

Assumption for Task 1

The creation of this work is to design and implement a database system for the design of a research department. According to this work is to design entity relationship diagram logic as a first step: Project managers, internal employees, external employees and funding agencies. The calculations of the stage, a research department carries out many activities in a project that may include one or more internal employees as an employee or vice versa may be able to participate in one or more projects. And as an employee and external funding agencies of the Agency are connected to the project entity in many relationships. In real world systems, there can be only one service at a research firm. Therefore, it makes me a little difficult in the implementation of the database where I cannot add many projects in a single department. No more project in a department.

Assumption for Task 2

In the second task, we have to apply drawings and tables from the archives of the entities that we look at the number of a task. By my calculations, I have total of eight tables in the phase diagram entity relationship. Department research projects include tennis, internal employees, and external employees table, funding agencies, employee table inner table of the information and the details of the external table using tables and details of funding agency. Number of tasks also includes two primary keys and foreign keys of the entity and its related fields. The fields in each table and are given in the award stage. But in the real world through the application of the database that can cope with difficulties. Compared with the database of real world there are many areas that are not necessary, but not the most important. So there are many inconsistencies in the data phase of the implementation of the database.

Assumption for Task 3

For number three tasks, the need is the design phase all the designs should therefore be included in the research department and standardize the way to get these entities to be the same as the entities and tables stage of development of relationships diagram entities. As in the real world projects and research efforts, there are several ways to bills, checks, money orders, etc report, however, for our task, we cannot implement everything we want, because they exceed the amount of forms would result in the inefficient database. So for this task, I made the necessary forms, as a student because I can deal heavy systems database. The project includes the registration form, the form of internal employees, external form of the entry of employees, funding agencies for a position. At first I thought it would not be sufficient for the development of these forms must be the same as the entity-relationship diagram. So I tried to make and implement external forms, such as monitoring and reporting, etc. After the addition of these capabilities, I entity-relationship becomes obsolete by several entities, tables, fields and relationships. When the implementation of database designs, I'm sick of data fields and additional records. So my formal consultation stage of the project and becomes the donor total error and could not keep up the good game. It is because I put too many tables and additional fields are full of maintaining this database. So I have to start from scratch by removing all tables and additional fields, and then apply a new set of databases. But then I think my database to be acceptable.

Assumption for Task 4

We begin to learn more about database programming and database CID mainly with the help of the allocation for Java. Also at that time, I was unable to create or implement a database that is very nice if there were many difficulties in implementing a database. Task number four of this mission is to create and populate the database structure designed to test data. All teachers of database software have given us two popular basic production data, such as Microsoft Access database and database Structured Query Language. Of the two software tools, Microsoft Access database became much more popular among students and is much easier to use the software instead of SQL. At first I found in the SQL database and using a guide home practice. But when I create the tables and performance testing of the database, there were many errors in the software. Some SQL errors are driver being blocked by a utility for Windows and sometimes these drivers are disabled. I have communicated with many instructors to overcome these problems, but in the end, no solution, I have to give the SQL database. But now I've found, because the windows are supported. I have Windows 7 64-bit Edition and SQL does not work properly without the driver installation SQL Toolkit for Windows 7 and Windows Vista driver package 64-bit. Therefore, I implemented the database for allocating the database using Microsoft Access, which shows no errors or problems. But when development projects based on real world data, none of the software company uses Microsoft Access as a database of the database is weakened by the long period of usage. Companies use Oracle or SQL programs that are far more common and can be utilized in a professional manner. So I decided that after the final exam, I will try to implement the SQL database with mapping software and see if it is better or more correct than the database in Microsoft Access by comparing the two. Also for this task not only building the database, but I posted screenshots of the tables in Datasheet view and Design and from their point of view of the relationship. For reference, also wrote the template file for all tables in the number four tasks.

Assumption for Task 5

Task number five is writing structured query language statement to design the database system implemented. The script says we should give the instruction structured query to display the names of internal employees and external collaborators, their roles, the project company, the hours worked for each project on behalf of Department. So we must combine the table of the project, the internal table of employees, internal table employee details, outer table outer table of staff employees and the elements, and begin writing the structured query language statement to produce defined scope screen as needed on stage. At first, structured query language statement by the language of self-generated from the database in Microsoft Access to the request for my database correctly.
