To make an application for nursing jobs overseas register your details and within 48 hours a Tonix consultant will be in touch. If you are overseas, click here to see the time difference.

Below we have provided some guidelines to make the application process easier for you.

Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Resume

Send us your CV / Resume electronically by either submitting it online with your application or with an email.

We do ask that you include (where possible) the names of at least 2 referees (one of which should be your current manager). With your permission we will contact your referees before presenting your CV / Resume to hospitals or health care providers. Please note that we may also reformat your CV and add your Tonix consultant's contact details.

Using More Than One Agent

Due to the small size of New Zealand Tonix along with other recruitment agencies work with the same health providers to find nursing jobs, so because of this we do ask that you let us know if you are making direct applications or using another agency.

Information from the Councils / Registration Boards

Depending on the position you are applying for information will be sent to you from either:

  • The New Zealand Nursing Council
  • New Zealand Midwifery Registration Board or;
  • ODP Registration Board

To begin processing, please ensure that you complete and return any requested documents to them as soon as possible.

Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition (TTMR) Agreement

If you hold a New Zealand or Australian registration in one of the following professions then you can apply for a registration under the TTMR agreement in either country. This will help ensure that your application is processed in a timely manner:

  • registered nurse
  • registered mental health nurse
  • registered midwife
  • registered ODP

The Tonix Process

Once your registration has been established with the relevant registration boards in NZ, your Tonix consultant will:

  • Arrange a phone interview at a time that suits you
  • Send the interview guidelines along with:
    1. A copy of the job description
    2. Details of your interview panel (there may be more than one person present) and;
    3. Confirmation of the interview date and time
  • Once you have had a successful interview a job offer and start date (negotiated on your behalf by Tonix), will be presented to you
  • You can then commence the New Zealand Immigration application process for your visa to work and live in NZ (a job offer and evidence of your New Zealand Registration is a requirement for this process to be finalised)

NOTE: All applicants applying for positions within the NZ community must hold a current drivers license.

If you would like any assistance with any of our processes or procedures or for more information on our nursing jobs please do not hesitate to contact our medical recruitment agency today. Our Freephone from the UK is 0800 028 4801.
