There are many business schools across the world. We have selected three business schools from gulf region and three from other part of the world to make a case study on their website and the impact of the website on general public. These business schools are King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), American university (Sharjah), College of Business and Economics (UAE), Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore), Indian Institute of Management (Indore) and Harvard Business School.
Needs and Benefits
The project is an assessment of the websites of some of the most highly recognized b-schools in the world. Before doing the clustering, framing and navigation of the website of ZU CBS, it is important to analyze the way this has been done by the pioneers in the field. This would form a base for choosing the cluster of words that can imply the mission of the b-school so that it can be framed as per as the values that the school wishes to convey.
It is beneficial from the perspective of ease with which ZU CBS would be able to convey its agenda to the students worldwide. As Internet is one of the most used means for communication, making a planed web site after having done assignments in form of studying websites of pioneer institutions, would pave the path of success in terms of students enrollment for ZU CBS.
This project describes the facilities that have been included in the web sites of the pioneer b-schools in the world. We have included the various ways by which they have been able to serve as dream places for the youth to go to. It shows that these b-schools have actually studied the environment that students move across and have also capitalized on this in the manner framing of their websites. But this also has very limited prospects. The reason for the same is that these institutes have different domains of working. As far as the international b-schools that have been considered, their market research for framing the website has a different domain as compared to ZU CBS. Even the b-schools in the locality had framed their websites earlier. As conditions have been changing drastically, ZU CBS would have to change the idea of clustering, framing and finally navigation as per as the latest technology so as to make a difference. Otherwise, there would be no points of difference (POD) for ZU CBS to excel.
Method and working Relationship
The four methods of analysis for conducting a market research can be divided into two sections. The first can be by primary research and the second can be through secondary research. They have been elaborated as follows:
Interviews- We have interviewed the technical heads of all the six b-schools either over the phone in case of international schools and on personal visiting in case of local b-schools. This has given the drive to inculcate necessary sections in the website.
Questionnaires- The second method is questionnaire that is distributed amongst the existing students of the b-schools to estimate the perfection of the web site. These results can be used for planning the website of ZU CBS.
Magazines- As the websites of these pioneer institutions have always been scrutinized by the media, facts about the same are generally available in various business magazines that can be read for authentication.
Internet- As we already know, Internet is the most common means of spreading agendas. There are a number of articles on famous websites like ameinfo, Gulf news and Khaleej times. As these are amongst the most widely used sites, they are most effective to do the research.
Findings of the Analysis
The findings have been enlisted as follows:
From the framing perspective a website should attract audience with the emotional touch that the institute needs good quality education from the students. It is like an appeal from the new entrants. This is common in all the six web sites.
The navigational features have been found to be such that they should spread the importance of education amongst the students. The findings in this respect suggest that the ease of use of web sites is very important to attain the valuable information.
The finding of the cluster analysis here suggests that the website should indicate the fact that the institute is the best university across the country and make it a brand name across the world. This has made the mentioned universities as the most renowned in the world.
Excellence, global perspective and opportunities for career development are a must in the websites. Framing should be based on its records and its foreign placements and the caliber of its students. The past records should show that it is amongst the best university across the world. Navigational feature should be very good on the website better than the others in the league so as to make a differentiation. The purpose should be to make itself a brand name across the world and strategy is to use its past records in this quest. Its purpose is to produce best managers to make new name in the world.
Other than this websites of ZU CBS should not be such that it looks an imitation of some other site of a prestigious institution in the world. The reason for the same is that those web sites are often visited by the users. Any imitation in this regard can be highly disadvantageous for the institute. This is beneficial from the framing perspective of the institute. This has been kept as a major practice in all the six web sites that have been mentioned.
Other than this, the focus should always be on quality education. This requires the fact that the web site of ZU CBS should be highly systematic in nature. The sequential structure would indicate that the institute vows for the same in the practices that it expects from the students. This would certainly add to the reputation that the institute would make in the future just as the institutes that have been mentioned above.
RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE WEBSITE OF KING SAUD UNIVERSITY, SAUDI ARABIA
Though the website talks about many things and tells about almost every part required for a student to know before joining a business school yet there are some fallacies. Concept cluster here is opportunities of career development as it is related to Saudi Arabia. Framing: In this part it is trying to attract audience with the emotional touch that Saudi Arabia needs good quality education and they offer that.Navigational: Navigational facility is not that good on the website.
Its purpose is to attract students from across the world to join the university. Strategy is to use emotional touch to make it happen.
RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE WEBSITE OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF SHARJAH
Maintenance of website is really very good. They have shown the tuition fees of 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 too. Concept cluster is maintained to provide high quality, American style business education. Framing of the website is with the collaboration with American University which facilitates its idea. Navigational feature is not that good on the website though it is sufficient. Purpose is to spread educational environment across the country. In this quest it is using the name of America.

Though the maintenance of the website is a bit shaky yet they have talked about many things. They have links of application form downloads, some pdfs about MBA as a career. It provides you a chance to make a view about MBA. Concept cluster indicates opportunities of global career. Framing: Its past record is good and it uses it on its website. Navigational facilities are a bit better than the previous websites. Purpose is to make this university a renowned university in the world.

Framing: It should have incorporated videos as videos affects audience very fast and profoundly. It should use its past records if it is good to make use of that.
